Build a URL in the form {format}/{width}/{height}, for example img.dailytooler.com/png/400/300, and use it directly as an image source anywhere: an tag, a mockup, or a design tool.

Can I get a square image?

Yes, leave out the height and just use {format}/{size}, for example img.dailytooler.com/png/200, to get a 200 by 200 square.

What formats are supported?

PNG, JPG, and WebP. Just change the first part of the URL to switch formats.

What does the placeholder look like?

A plain gray background with the image's dimensions and "dailytooler.com" printed in the center, so it's obvious at a glance which placeholder is which.

Is there a size limit?

Width and height are capped at 3000 pixels each to keep generation fast and prevent abuse.

What is an image placeholder generator?

Every URL in the form {format}/{width}/{height} generates a plain gray placeholder image on the fly, labeled with its own size, so you always know what you're looking at in a mockup or prototype. Leave out the height for a square image.
